Michael P. Puorro
Chairman, President & CEO

Mr. Puorro has over 25 years banking experience and over 20 years as a senior banking executive in all facets of developing successful financial institutions. Mr. Puorro is the former Co-Chairman and President of Madison National Bancorp, Inc. and Madison National Bank, a de novo community bank, which commenced operation in February 2007. Mr. Puorro was a leading member of Madison's entrepreneurial group and executive management team that raised $32.5 million in capital from a private placement. Madison became one of the fastest growing de novo institutions in the country, reaching profitability within eighteen months of operation and generating in excess of $300 million in assets. Prior to this, Mr. Puorro served as EVP and CFO of New York Community Bancorp, Inc. where he was directly responsible for managing the financial functions of the fourth largest thrift in the United States with over $24 billion in assets and $5 billion in market capitalization. Prior to his tenure with New York Community Bank, Mr. Puorro served as EVP and CFO of Roslyn Bancorp, Inc. where in addition to managing the Company's day-to-day financial operations, he was responsible for overseeing the Company's fiscal plans, (financial operating standards, and policies and procedures), as well as establishing current and long-term corporate objectives which supported Company growth from less than $1 billion to over $12 billion in assets, and from five to 40 full service retail locations from 1992 through its merger with New York Community Bank in 2003. Prior to joining The Roslyn Savings Bank in 1992, Mr. Puorro was a senior member in the Financial Services Group of the public accounting firm of KPMG LLP, specializing in financial institutions ranging in size from local community banks to super money center institutions. Mr. Puorro serves as Chairman of the Board of Dowling College, where he earned a B.B.A. from their School of Professional Accountancy, and in addition to being a certified public accountant, is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants. Mr. Puorro also serves as a member of the Board of the INN (Interfaith Nutritional Network), an organization which addresses the issues of hunger and homelessness on Long Island. Mr. Puorro has established a high level of confidence and credibility and possesses a pristine reputation with all regulatory authorities, as well as Wall Street financial analysts, members of the investment community, and charitable and civic groups. In May 2012, Mr. Puorro received an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Human Letters from Dowling College.


Kenneth Sapanski
E.V.P. & Chief Credit Officer

Mr. Sapanski has over 32 years in the banking industry with considerable expertise in credit risk and credit administration. His career includes work in loan servicing, loan administration, loss mitigation, credit risk management and loan reporting. He has experience in all lending disciplines – commercial, construction, multi-family, business and residential lending as well as project management. He was most recently associated with one of the largest independent commercial banks in the metropolitan area. Prior to that, he was SVP and Chief Credit Administration Officer managing the operations of the bank's credit administration department for a local commercial community bank on Long Island. Mr. Sapanski received his Bachelor of Science degree from the State University of New York, ESC, Old Westbury, New York where he majored in Business Management and Economics and minored in Banking. Mr. Sapanski has completed numerous lending, management and finance courses with the National Institute of Credit Management, Federal National Mortgage Association and the National Council of Savings Institutions. In his position at Hanover he is responsible for managing the Bank's Credit Risk Management and Credit Administration and Loan Servicing Divisions as well as overseeing loan underwriting and loan operations.


Robert Marrali
S.V.P. & Chief Lending Officer

Mr. Marrali possesses over ten years of commercial lending experience. He was most recently employed as Senior Vice President Market Manager Commercial Real Estate at Sovereign Bank, where he was responsible for the production of the small commercial real estate loan program with annual production over $800.0 million. Further, he supervised the production, processing and pre-closing departments consisting of twenty-two staff members and two Vice Presidents. Mr. Marrali was also responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Bank's production of owner-occupied, multi-family, mixed use, retail properties and office building loan pipeline. Prior to his employ at Sovereign Bank, Mr. Marrali was Vice President of Commercial Lending at a metropolitan located commercial bank where he was directly responsible for the origination and portfolio management of the Bank's multi-family loan portfolio. Mr. Marrali was a member of the Bank's Asset Classification Committee and Asset Liability Committee and possesses extensive experience in appraisal and environmental report review. Mr. Marrali was also a Senior Commercial Loan Officer for a super-regional Bank specializing in multi-family and commercial loan originations. Mr. Marrali completed a certificate program from the New York University Credit Analysis & Risk Management Program and earned a B.A. degree in Economics from Hofstra University.


James H. Carter
S.V.P. Operations

Mr. Carter has over 45 years of retail and commercial bank operations experience specializing in diversified product and project management. In addition to his extensive track record in project management, Mr. Carter possesses significant experience in expense containment initiatives, policy/procedure development, Regulatory compliance, vendor management, quality assurance and operational effectiveness management. Most recently Mr. Carter was employed as a Senior Vice President of administration and operations at several banks overseeing all aspects of Retail Operations, IT, Compliance and Facilities. Prior to that, Mr. Carter was employed at TD Bank USA as a Senior Vice President where he managed a staff of over forty employees and coordinated four banking areas in connection with Settlement Operations, Product Support, Risk Management and Technology. Mr. Carter received his undergraduate degree in Business Administration and a MBA in Financial Management from Iona College. In his position at Hanover, he will be responsible for managing all aspects of the Bank's Retail and Commercial Bank operations and Information Technology.
